Neve Randall

Flute & Composer

2025 BMF Young Artist

Neve Randall is a vibrant and versatile Brisbane based emerging artist. Neve’s passion for contemporary and improvised music was ignited while performing in The Meditation Garden at the 2023 Bleach* Festival (Gold Coast) and continues to flourish with guidance from triple grammy award winner Timothy Munro. She has since performed in the 2024 Brisbane International Jazz Festival with Afro-Cuban Jazz ensemble Con Alma and her contemporary improvisation ensemble The Prairie Dogs, as well as performing with Dots + Loops for a performance of Pauline Oliveros’ Four Meditations. Throughout her time studying a Bachelor of Music (Honours) at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, Neve has appreciated the opportunity to perform with colleagues at various chamber and orchestral performances and especially enjoyed premiering new composers’ works. With a keen interest in performance psychology, she has spent her honours year researching the effects of Buddhist meditation techniques for enhancing the flow state in musical performance.

With the aim of developing her research and helping other musicians achieve peak performance, Neve plans to pursue a master’s degree in performance science at the Royal College of Music in London. With a holistic approach to life and music, she often spends her spare time at the beach or learning meditation and mindfulness techniques.
